December is packed full of special times and who isn’t in need of outfit inspiration for all of the season’s events amidst the hustle and bustle of Christmastime? I thought it would be fun to round up a bunch of looks I’ve posted from the past, and a few new looks that would work in a lot of December’s calendar. Below you’ll see outfit ideas for Work/Holiday Parties, Christmas Tree Farm/Outdoor Activities, Christmas Cards/Family Photos, Family/Friends Visits, and finally, I found a bunch of cute PJ ideas for Christmas Eve and Day that I put at the end of the post!
Outfit Ideas: Holiday / Work Party

1. The LBD
_____________________________________
I don’t think you can ever go wrong with something as simple and lovely as a little black dress! So, of course that is my first choice for a party. I chose one that was above the knee, but covered my arms – and, if you choose to show more on top, then your dress should be longer. Dress that LBD up with sparkling accessories or holiday colors. I went with gold and crystal tones, but red pumps and red earrings would sure be fun for Christmas!
If your party is more casual, you can pull off a LBD with cute OTK boots. I changed up my necklace, too, because I like how turquoise and cognac go together.

2. The Statement Jacket
_____________________________________
Choose any dress, and grab your favorite moto jacket and you’re set! Wearing a moto jacket gives you a chance to grab a favorite sleeveless dress, too, which is what I did when I chose this FAVORITE ruched bodycon dress. It comes in 10 colors and looks amazing on it’s own, and under a cardigan or jacket. If you have a favorite shift or bodycon dress, just add a cute jacket and a statement necklace, and you’re set for the night!

1. Statement Scarf
_____________________________________
Almost every year since we’ve been married, Eric and I find a cabin in northern AZ to rent for a long weekend. It is a time to unplug, enjoy some pine trees, and sometimes even see snow! When I saw this cute scarf, it reminded me of the cozy yarn scarves I grew up wearing, and knew this was the perfect way to add some fun to my otherwise mostly black outfit while we enjoyed living in the woods for a few days.

2. Boots add a Pop of Color
_____________________________________
Getting Hunter boots was a good investment for me as they’ve been versatile when we get more rain in the “winter months,” and when we go north to play in the snow! (Keep in mind that if you want to take them in the snow, you’ll definitely want liners or warm socks!) I chose these pink ones, but it was hard to decide between pink & classic red! No matter what kind of jacket you’re wearing, colorful boots will keep it fun! 🙂

3. Faux Fur Trim Vest or Jacket
_____________________________________
Faux fur and sherpa is such a big trend right now! I like them both, but always think faux fur trim is a classic! Whether you have it on a cute vest or a big, puffy jacket, it’ll look chic no matter what you’re doing and where you’re going.

1. Dress, Boots, & Scarf
_____________________________________
Find a neutral dress with minimal to no pattern and add color or pattern with a scarf. Finish off the look with tall boots and you’re set! Picture the rest of the family in colors that play off of this. For example, using the outfit below, the family could be in whites, browns, blacks, and blush.

*Style Tip: you will want a nude full slip to wear underneath your white cable-knit dress.

This look isn’t too different – just a more casual spin. I chose a simple swing dress and went with a blanket scarf. Since this dress was longer, I thought short booties worked a lot better with it. Again, this outfit example below would work well with gray, white, blue, and burgundy tones in a family photo.

2. Booties & Cardigan
_____________________________________
The more casual route would be an outfit based on a nice cardigan. This one is a waterfall cardigan – very lightweight/polyester so it falls beautifully. I wear it so much because of the fit and color. Other options would be a longer duster like this one, or a cozy, shorter knit option like this one. Choose which color works with the palette your family is going for, and pair it with a nice pair of denim or black leggings, add your favorite boots or booties, and you’re set!

2. Black Denim / Legging Outfits

If you head somewhere and need to be a little more dressed up, I totally recommend finding a cute pair of faux leather leggings! They look nice pair with tall boots, and a long layering tank or tunic top. If you’re not a leggings person, go with some black jeggings or jeans.

Mix & Match: PJs for Christmas Eve & Day!
How many of you have a Christmas PJ tradition? We never did that while I was growing up and now that I’m married, Eric & I always travel over Christmas to see family, so we still don’t have that tradition. However, this will be the first year we have Christmas at home, and we are going to gift each other Christmas PJs! 🙂 I’m so excited! Here’s a bunch of cute pajama & lounge wear ideas.
