Before I dive into the topic at hand, how is it already mid October? Is anyone else baffled at how quickly the months pass by? Maybe it’s because we are still holding onto summer temperatures in Arizona, but maybe it’s because life is full, blessed, and E & I are always looking for what is in store for us next!

Gray Peplum Top

Peplum tops are so flattering, and this flowy one is no exception! It is roomy, light-weight, and has such a “girl next door” appeal. I chose this gray peplum top from Fashion Junkee because I knew it would double for work wear with black pants (these are my FAVORITE work pants!) or weekend wear with a favorite pair of distressed skinny jeans (as styled in this post).

*I’m sharing a special discount code at the end of this post!

I think this will look cute under a black moto jacket, too, and you could really dress it up with a pair of black pointy toe pumps. If I could wear black, white, or gray everyday, I would be happy. It’s chic, classy, and always in style. Every now and then something colorful catches my eye, though! 🙂 Which reminds me, they have this same style in some pretty velvet colors, too!

Perforated Bootie Trend

Once September hit, everyone was head over heels for booties! I noticed a number of cute cut-out and peep toe ones during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in July & August, but didn’t snag any. However, when I saw this perforated pair that Fashion Junkee released, I knew they were for me. I had been eyeing some identical to these at a much more expensive retailer, and was so glad I hadn’t taken the hit and found these instead. They come in a taupe, black, and blush colors, too, and the taupe is calling my name!

The peep toe, cut out, and perforation trends in booties this season are SO good for Indian summers and fall. They allow you to dress for the season without making you feel too warm or too ready for those frigid temps like the knee high and OTK boots do. I always say these styles are perfect for those of us in mild weather all year ’round, too, since we don’t need to worry about freezing our toes off in the snow!
