I shared our laundry room update on my Instagram Stories a few months ago and as you may have noticed, I love how it turned out. We knew we wanted to add more storage solutions to this small room, and when Eric mentioned we should also repaint the cabinets white, I was all for it!
The biggest changes are:
- Updated the gray cabinets to white
- Added the butcher block shelf above the washer and dryer
- Hung a shelf from the ceiling for additional storage/decor
The cabinets were gray.
Our handyman took the cabinets and drawers to repaint them before I thought to take a complete before & after.
Empty “slate!” Butcher block shelf is up!
Our handyman cut the back of the butcher block off and used the extra piece to build a brace along the side.
“New” white cabinets are in! And this is where we originally had the dog prints hanging…
The white looks so good!
The white shelf is up!
Reframed the dog prints, added wire baskets to the white shelf, and wicker baskets to the butcher block shelf.
Used the first shelf area you see when you walk in for a ceramic pot and eucalyptus with a pretty “home” sign. I like how it added some green to the natural woods in the room.
Hung the “wash, dry, fold” decor!
Added the hooks for things that need to hang dry like pool towels, dog bath towels, etc.

Have you taken on any remodels or updates during the COVID “lockdown”? We loved putting this room together to make it more functional for our home. My favorite part? Can’t get over how PRETTY the butcher block top is in there… and I LOVED brightening up this small room (with no windows) with the white cabinets!
Have a great end to your week, all! Thanks for stopping by to read!
